We took part in the Homecoming Parade. Our theme was "Count Dracula Vants to Eat the Coyotes". We shared the float with the second graders. October was the start of Book-It from Pizza Hut. All but two of us met our goals. Congratulations to those who read all their books. We enjoyed National Reading Week. We had two grandmas come and read to us. Thanks to Leone Kannegieter and Rhonda Michalski for sharing their stories with us. We had buddy reading time with the third graders. We loved reading our stories to them and showing off our reading skills.
We had a special visitor to our room. Marne Lemmle, a naturalist for Game Fish and Parks, presented a lesson about bats to us. Pictured below is our own special "batgirl" - Alicia. Marne also brought a specimen of a real bat to show us. It was awesome!
